In the late 1970s, Brothers Phuong and Thai were refugees traveling from Vietnam to the United States in hopes of a better life. When they arrived, there was no place for them to stay.
At just the right time, a kind couple named Chuck and Margaret took them in. Chuck and Margaret helped the brothers and their family get settled and treated them like family. It was this kindness and generosity that led to Margaret being known as “Mama.“
Oftentimes, the house would be filled with the aroma of freshly baked rolls and crispy fried chicken. Phuong & Thai would come to love Mama’s cooking– not just for the unforgettable flavors, but also for the kindness and compassion behind it all.
Fast forward to 2018, Phuong & Thai opened Mama’s Chicken & Seafood, naming it in honor of Mama Margaret. Today, the same delicious home-cookin’ and the warmth of family can be found at Mama’s.
